Introducing: The Curve Ball. Thrown by One for the Kids.

Since its beginning, One for the Kids has relished the curve ball be it our irreverent tag line, a great time for a great cause or the fact that our original logo was designed on a napkin, we havent exactly been the cookie cutter charity group. The fundraiser is on February 28th, earlier than our past years but dont let the colder weather stray you away. Your heart will feel the warmth of the great cause at hand, your feet will be swayed by the entertaining live music and your stomach will be plenty full with cocktails and delicious dinner.

The key is coming up with something fresh,” says this years chairman, Eric Degnan. The ideas our board comes up with make me laugh-most walk the line somewhere between sophomoric and classic. It wouldnt surprise me if Bob Lanigan showed up to the Curve Ball one day when he runs it- shirtless, dressed in a kilt, riding a donkey.

The new Curve Ball name is about celebrating that fun and unpredictability and taking it to the next level for the benefit of the Janowiak Boys and our partner charities. First the logo, now our event name- this has been the year of change for OFTK and we cant wait for you to experience it. We have moved the event up earlier for a few reasons. First, people need something to do and get excited about in the middle of winter (your wives will agree). Second, February seems to be a time where not much is going on; the holiday season has been wrapped up, maybe making those last minute returns (guilty). Third, it allows us to coordinate our efforts by having more time between our two major events, The Curve Ball and the Golf Outing.

This event is consistently evolving and we continue to work on branding it that way, says Degnan. There are many aspects to the event from the food, entertainment layout, and curve balls-unexpected events or unique experiences. See you there.
